Hughes Use Group 2023

As the saying goes, “Everything’s bigger in Texas!” And that was the case for this years’ Hughes User Group (HUG) conference. This annual event brings together Hughes enterprise customers from around the world to talk, listen and learn about the latest in connectivity technologies. From Argentina to Malaysia, Brazil to the UK -- along with many from right here in the U.S. --  we welcomed attendees from major retailers, oil and gas companies, restaurants and more to Fort Worth, Texas for two days packed with networking and learning.

In addition to interactive workshops and roundtable discussions, there were also customer panel presentations on Cybersecurity and Next Gen connectivity. Kicking off the conference was a keynote from Andrew Laudato, author of Fostering Innovation: How to build an amazing IT team. Andrew is an EVP and COO at The Vitamin Shoppe and his keynote was based on real world experiences and learnings.

Conference attendees participated in hands on workshops covering topics like digital signage operation and the HughesON™ management portal. We learned about mobile communications and technology trends like 5G and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) connectivity. One of the primary objectives of the conference is to build relationships with peers and to facilitate an ongoing exchange of ideas, both at the conference and throughout the year. To help foster these relationships, we held roundtable discussions on topics like AIOps, Network Architectures, Security Implementations, Technology Project Rollouts and more.

Conference attendees also enjoyed social time each evening with group events, including an evening at the World’s Largest Honky Tonk – I wasn’t kidding when I said everything is bigger in Texas! After a day of learning and sharing, it was a fun opportunity to relax and continue our discussions around some great barbeque and cold beer. There were even a few attendees who competed in Armadillo races -- you must visit Fort Worth to fully understand.

Every year, I look forward to gaining valuable insights and feedback from our customers, connecting with new customers and sharing unique experiences around a new city, and this year was no exception. A big thank you to everyone who attended and worked to produce content for the HUG Conference 2023!
