Ramesh Ramaswamy, EVP & General Manager of Hughes, is responsible for all revenue-generating activities across the organization worldwide. Previously, Ramesh led the international division, which provides satellite broadband equipment and services for network operators, enterprises, and consumers outside the United States both directly and through subsidiaries in Europe, India, and Brazil.

Ramesh earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Madras in India and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas, Arlington.

Dr. Charles Barnett, senior vice president of engineering at Hughes, leads the company’s engineering and technology organization. Dr. Barnett has a broad technical background in wired/wireless terrestrial communication and satellite communications, having spent more than 42 years in the design and development of terrestrial wired switching and transmission systems. His expertise also lies in terrestrial wireless mobile systems, GEO satellite TDMA VSAT systems and mobile satellite communication systems (high-throughput converged packet and voice systems), low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite systems, and ground-based beamforming.

He is currently engaged in the research and development of a high-throughput packet system and the application/adaptation of existing and emerging (4G and 5G) terrestrial wireless standards to LEO mobile satellite systems. Dr. Barnett is also responsible for developing and delivering engineering courses for both new and experienced engineers to keep them up to date on cutting-edge technologies and best practices.

Dr. Barnett received his doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is also an alumnus of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Jeff Boggs, senior vice president at Hughes, leads all financial matters for the company with primary responsibility for profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash performance across global operations. Prior to assuming his current role, he led finance for the North America division, which includes Hughesnet®, the company’s flagship satellite internet service.

Jeff built his over 35-year career in the satellite communication industry starting at Hughes Space and Communications Company, now Boeing Satellite Systems, in El Segundo, California, and grew with the company as it evolved to Hughes Network Systems. He has worked across multiple financial functions, such as satellite manufacturing, procurement, government programs, and international geostationary mobile system sales, as well as assignments outside of finance, including satellite system program management.

Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona.

Colleen Caruso, vice president at Hughes, leads the teams responsible for solutions, sales, sales engineering, sales operations, and program management for the company’s North American Enterprise business. Colleen and her teams support large enterprise, small to medium businesses, and government customers. In her role, Colleen drives the go-to-market strategies resulting in the innovative evolution of the Hughes portfolio of managed services consisting of networking, cybersecurity, and digital signage solutions.

Since joining Hughes as a pilot engineer in 1996, Colleen has held positions of increasing responsibility and leadership. Under her direction, she has fostered collaboration and cross team synergies, including a focus on strengthening the Hughes partner ecosystem with valued partners. Colleen now oversees all account management, encompassing sales and program management, as well as the strategic and tactical presales technical teams. Her responsibilities include product management, solution architecture, sales engineering, and pilot engineering. In addition, Colleen takes pride in mentoring professionals and encouraging their development and success.

Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University.

Hossein Memarsadeghi, SVP & General Manager of the North America Consumer Division at Hughes, leads the consumer business operations, people, and performance. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring the successful growth, operation, and P&L for Hughesnet® satellite internet.

Since joining Hughes as an intern in 1993, Hossein has held various positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, launch management, program management, service delivery, and business management.

Hossein earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland.

Michelle Pearre serves as senior vice president of human resources and administration for EchoStar Corporation and its subsidiary, Hughes Network Systems, LLC. With a genuine passion for cultivating a rewarding employee experience and attractive company culture, Michelle leads a global team of human resource professionals supporting more than 2,000 employees and contractors in 15 countries. A member of the strategic leadership team, Michelle collaborates closely with EchoStar and Hughes executives to align human capital to achieve the company’s goals. Under her leadership, EchoStar and Hughes have been recognized repeatedly by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence, as well as Cigna Healthcare, for workplace quality, health and wellness, and diversity.

With over 25 years at Hughes, Michelle has taken on roles in all aspects of human resources with increasing leadership and responsibilities. Prior to joining Hughes, she worked at Sallie Mae as a compensation supervisor.

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science from Barton College and is a member of Chief, a private network for women in senior leadership positions.

Reza Rasoulian is Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Aviation Business Unit at Hughes, where he leads the company’s global aviation business and is responsible for strategy, P&L, partnerships, sales, marketing, customer success, technology roadmaps, and growth initiatives. He also oversees product development for NGSO and other mobility markets, delivering connectivity and digital solutions that enhance passenger experiences and improve operational performance.

With more than 25 years of experience across telecommunications, satellite communications, aerospace, mobility, cruise, and aviation industries, Reza has built a track record of driving growth, leading business transformations, and developing high-performing teams. He works closely with airlines, aircraft manufacturers, technology partners, and government stakeholders to advance next-generation connectivity solutions and create long-term customer value.

Before re-joining Hughes, Reza served as Vice President of Global Connectivity at Carnival Corporation, where he led the development of large-scale connectivity solutions designed to create a seamless digital experience across the world’s largest cruise fleet. Throughout his career, he has successfully led organizations through periods of rapid growth, operational transformation, and market expansion while maintaining a strong focus on customer outcomes and execution excellence.

Reza holds several patents in connectivity technologies and has received numerous industry honors, including the Euroconsult SmartShip Award, the Mobile Satellite Users Association (MSUA) Satellite Mobile Innovation Award with Delta Air Lines, and the PAX International PAXEX Award with Delta Air Lines for Best IFEC. These awards recognize his leadership in advancing innovative connectivity solutions, digital transformation, and connected customer experiences.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems & Management Science from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Matthew Thomas, senior vice president of defense and manufacturing operations at Hughes, leads the strategy and execution of the company’s defense and manufacturing organizations.

Matthew has over 20 years of executive leadership experience in the U.S. government and private sector. He is a retired CIA career Paramilitary Operations Officer (Senior Intelligence Service Executive) and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Prior to joining Hughes, he served as Chief Operating Officer for a multinational science and data firm.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Tufts University.
