Pradman Kaul is president and CEO of Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES).
Before joining Hughes, Mr. Kaul worked at COMSAT Laboratories in Clarksburg, MD after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
With numerous patents to his name, Mr. Kaul has published articles and papers on a variety of technical topics concerning satellite communications and earned many industry accolades, including:
- Selected as a “Distinguished Engineering Alumnus” of the University of California, Berkeley in 1999
- Awarded the IEEE Third Millennium medal in 2000
- Inducted into the National Academy of Engineering in October 2004
- Selected as a “Distinguished Alumnus” at George Washington University, Washington DC in 2005
- Awarded "Satellite Executive of the Year 2008" by Via Satellite magazine
- Inducted into the Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) Hall of Fame in 2009
- Awarded the 2021 Aerospace Communications Award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) for his outstanding contributions to the satellite communications industry
Executive Vice President, Engineering
Mr. Morris leads the world-class engineering team at Hughes dedicated to developing -- and continuously improving -- innovative products and connectivity solutions.
Mr. Morris’ career at Hughes began in 1982 when he designed hardware for the TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) product lines, as well as DAMA (Demand Assigned Multiple Access) and FDMA (Frequency Division Multiple Access) products. He was the systems and project lead on a number of first-to-market systems, including the SCPC (Single Channel per Carrier) TES™ (Telephony Earth Station) product and the Italsat SS-TDMA (Satellite Switched TDMA) system. Involved in the design of mobile satellite communications for decades, Mr. Morris led the engineering team on the development of the Hughes JUPITER™ System, the leading VSAT platform in the world.
Mr. Morris received a Bachelor of Science honors degree in Electrical Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland and a Master of Science degree in digital techniques from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland. Before joining Hughes, he worked as a hardware designer at Ferranti Electronics and Electro Optics Systems Division. He holds a number of patents in digital communications, has several published papers, and has presented at a number of technical conferences. Mr. Morris is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).
Executive Vice President and General Manager, North America
Mr. Gaske leads the North America division at Hughes, which operates HughesNet®, the company’s flagship satellite Internet service for consumer and small business subscribers; managed network services for enterprise customers; and numerous SATCOM and emergency service solutions for government and military customers. Mr. Gaske also oversees the company’s manufacturing business, which produces and ships millions of satellite and multi-transport terminals for customers around the world.
Mr. Gaske joined Hughes in 1977 and has held a variety of engineering, marketing, and business management positions throughout his career, including vice president of marketing of Hughes International Satellite Division. His main focus in recent years has been launching broadband satellite services for business, government, and consumer markets.
Mr. Gaske holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE), a published author on satellite networking technologies and markets, and the holder of numerous patents in satellite communications and broadband networking. Mr. Gaske was named the University of Maryland Clark School of Engineering “Distinguished Engineering Alumnus” in 2012 and inducted into the SSPI Hall of Fame in 2020.
Executive Vice President and General Manager, International Division
Mr. Ramaswamy leads the International Division at Hughes, which provides satellite broadband equipment and services for network operators, enterprises and consumers outside the United States both directly and through subsidiaries in Europe, India and Brazil.
Mr. Ramaswamy started his career at Hughes as a software engineer and has held several positions in engineering, operations, marketing and sales. Prior to his current position, he was senior vice president of international sales and marketing.
Mr. Ramaswamy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Madras in India and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas, Arlington.
