Dr. Charles Barnett
Senior Vice President, Engineering
Ramesh Ramaswamy, EVP & General Manager of Hughes, is responsible for all revenue-generating activities across the organization worldwide. Previously, Ramesh led the international division, which provides satellite broadband equipment and services for network operators, enterprises, and consumers outside the United States both directly and through subsidiaries in Europe, India, and Brazil.
Ramesh earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Madras in India and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas, Arlington.
Michelle Pearre serves as senior vice president of human resources and administration for EchoStar Corporation and its subsidiary, Hughes Network Systems, LLC. With a genuine passion for cultivating a rewarding employee experience and attractive company culture, Michelle leads a global team of human resource professionals supporting more than 2,000 employees and contractors in 15 countries. A member of the strategic leadership team, Michelle collaborates closely with EchoStar and Hughes executives to align human capital to achieve the company’s goals. Under her leadership, EchoStar and Hughes have been recognized repeatedly by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence, as well as Cigna Healthcare, for workplace quality, health and wellness, and diversity.
With over 25 years at Hughes, Michelle has taken on roles in all aspects of human resources with increasing leadership and responsibilities. Prior to joining Hughes, she worked at Sallie Mae as a compensation supervisor.
Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science from Barton College and is a member of Chief, a private network for women in senior leadership positions.

Dr. Charles Barnett
Senior Vice President, Engineering
Dr. Charles Barnett, senior vice president of engineering at Hughes, leads the company’s engineering and technology organization. Dr. Barnett has a broad technical background in wired/wireless terrestrial communication and satellite communications, having spent more than 42 years in the design and development of terrestrial wired switching and transmission systems. His expertise also lies in terrestrial wireless mobile systems, GEO satellite TDMA VSAT systems and mobile satellite communication systems (high-throughput converged packet and voice systems), low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite systems, and ground-based beamforming.
He is currently engaged in the research and development of a high-throughput packet system and the application/adaptation of existing and emerging (4G and 5G) terrestrial wireless standards to LEO mobile satellite systems. Dr. Barnett is also responsible for developing and delivering engineering courses for both new and experienced engineers to keep them up to date on cutting-edge technologies and best practices.
Dr. Barnett received his doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is also an alumnus of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Hossein Memarsadeghi, SVP & General Manager of the North America Consumer Division at Hughes, leads the consumer business operations, people, and performance. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring the successful growth, operation, and P&L for Hughesnet® satellite internet.
Since joining Hughes as an intern in 1993, Hossein has held various positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, launch management, program management, service delivery, and business management.
Hossein earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
Jeff Boggs, senior vice president at Hughes, leads all financial matters for the company with primary responsibility for profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash performance across global operations. Prior to assuming his current role, he led finance for the North America division, which includes Hughesnet®, the company’s flagship satellite internet service.
Jeff built his over 35-year career in the satellite communication industry starting at Hughes Space and Communications Company, now Boeing Satellite Systems, in El Segundo, California, and grew with the company as it evolved to Hughes Network Systems. He has worked across multiple financial functions, such as satellite manufacturing, procurement, government programs, and international geostationary mobile system sales, as well as assignments outside of finance, including satellite system program management.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona.
