Company Culture & Values
Innovation
Like every great start-up story, ours began in 1971 in a humble, suburban garage, where seven young engineers started a business designing telecom circuit boards. Our passion for building the most advanced networks to meet our customers’ needs is driven by our culture of continuous innovation.
Engineering Excellence
Did you know that half of Hughes employees have an Engineering or Computer Science degree? With nearly 500 patents to our name, it’s no surprise that we are consistently recognized for our innovation and technology achievements. As the backbone of everything we do here at Hughes, our engineering team is always in the market for top-tier talent in a variety of engineering fields, including satellite engineers, network engineers, data science engineers, software and hardware engineers, mechanical engineers, antenna engineers and more.
Collaboration
Cross-functional collaboration is encouraged and celebrated. With a wide variety of customers and end users across our business, we routinely draw on resources around the organization to achieve common goals. Successful collaboration requires a cooperative spirit, mutual respect, and the ability to function effectively as part of a team.
Customer Service
A customer service mindset is omnipresent at all levels of the organization, even for those without a direct customer-facing position. Our “Whatever it takes” attitude means we go the extra mile to ensure our customers’ success—whether we’re serving internal or external clients, we strive to deliver professional, innovative and
high-quality work.
Our people are at the heart of everything we do.
With an average tenure of more than ten years, we’re invested in their long-term success and development. We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, complete with an employee stock purchase plan, tuition reimbursement, discount programs and more. With a new and improved gym, renovated cafeteria and outdoor patio space, freshly paved walking trail, multiple outdoor sports facilities and on-site wellness clinic, we’re committed to our employees’ wellbeing and work-life balance.

Make meaningful connections with industry leaders and participate in personal and professional development opportunities—all while having fun and getting paid. Positions for interns include engineering, marketing, legal, software development, cybersecurity, data analysis and more.
