HT1300 Leverages JUPITER System Power and Efficiency over Conventional C- and Ku-Band Satellite Capacity
Germantown, Md., May 28, 2015—Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite solutions and services, today announced the availability of the HT1300, its new high-throughput router for the JUPITER™ System, designed to operate over conventional C-band and Ku-band, as well as Ka-band satellite capacity. The HT1300 enables satellite operators around the world to leverage the power and efficiency of the JUPITER System over conventional satellite capacity while positioning them for seamless migration to future high-throughput (HTS) satellites.
Capable of 100 Mbps throughput, the newest member of the award-winning JUPITER System is the ideal router as the backbone for a high-security corporate network. It boasts high availability and the flexibility via an industry standard L-band interface to operate with a variety of outdoor units–including high-power amplifiers. As a result, operators may not need to replace existing outdoor electronics when upgrading to HT1300 routers and the JUPITER System.
“We developed the HT1300 specifically to meet the growing demand from enterprise customers for high-performance networks,” said Ramesh Ramaswamy, Hughes vice president, international sales and marketing. “As an integral part of our JUPITER System, it paves the way for operators to rapidly implement a technology upgrade over conventional C-band and Ku-band satellites in order to deliver even the most demanding enterprise applications in a wide range of markets— while enabling easy transition to high-throughput Ka-band satellites in the future.”
With advanced bandwidth management techniques and a full set of IP and enterprise features, the JUPITER System is designed to enable operators to deliver a wide range of services and meet even the most stringent QoS demands. The integrated high-performance traffic classifier of the JUPITER System is able to dynamically classify delay-sensitive, real-time applications like voice or video, in order to deliver the necessary performance demanded by enterprise users. Hardware- based, bi-directional encryption ensures security without compromising performance.
Easy to use and cost-efficient to operate, the HT1300 is fully managed from a central location, such as a corporate IT help desk, providing continuous status monitoring and diagnostics that are integral to JUPITER’s embedded web GUI, supporting rapid installation and remote site troubleshooting.
Hughes representatives will be available to answer questions about the JUPITER System and the HT1300 at the CommunicAsia 2015 Technology Exhibition and Conference, June 2-5, at their hospitality suite, Hibiscus 3601B, Level 3 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore. Registration for the CommunicAsia 2015 Technology Exhibition and Conference has closed.
