On July 1, 2016, HughesNet® was launched in Brazil, the first international deployment of the award-winning high-speed satellite Internet service. That effort took months of planning from a dedicated Hughes team, which has followed a graduated roll-out plan to provide superior and affordable service to customers in 20 Brazilian states and the Federal District of Brasília.
Two teams in particular were recently recognized during the Hughes Annual Awards Program. Their excellent performance was why HughesNet reached 22,000 installations in 6 months, distributing to more than 2,000 municipalities across Brazil.
The IT Team in Brazil received an award because of its tireless focus, which involved managing and executing all of the implementation activities surrounding Salesforce, OASIS Portal, Billing-SAP, and the OSS / BSS Infrastructure. Members of the IT Team include Roger Haick (Director of Services) and collaborators Patricia Francesquini, Marcos Rodrigues, Lucas Miranda, Anali Abreu, Crystiano Mendonça, Fernando Alves, Leandro Prado and Ricardo Santos.
Santos’ achievements in planning and implementing the OSS / BSS platform in particular stood out. He helped drive the project to success, traveling several times to Germantown to interact with the SDG team and leveraging his excellent English skills to communicate with a variety of teams. Throughout, he won the respect of all for his collaborative style.
The Field Services team members were recognized for training over 500 technicians and installers, including daily performance management of more than 300 installers, and providing face-to-face support for companies and technicians who were installing the new service. They are: Eduardo Alves Moura, Emerson Azevedo de Souza, Marcelo Rosa, Rafael Luccas and Renan Silva de Oliveira, Alessandro Silva and Luis Rodolfo.
