Small Business Initiative
At Hughes, we are committed to supporting all kinds of small businesses, including those designated by the U.S. Small Business Administration as “small disadvantaged businesses” (SDB), “HUBZone” or owned by women, veterans and disabled veterans. It’s all part of our proactive supplier diversity program designed to help these businesses develop the growth and competitive capabilities that will enable them to thrive.
In New York State, Hughes is participating in the New York State Broadband Program and looking for certified New York Minority, Service Disabled and Women Owned business partners.
Through this initiative, we offer SDBs an opportunity to bid on Hughes materials, goods, and services. Our Small Business Initiative is consistent with the policy of considering all subcontractors and suppliers fairly in competition for requirements falling within their demonstrated capabilities, and it applies to all contracts to the extent practicable.
Minority procurement is no longer an issue of social conscience. By cultivating our SDB business community, Hughes hopes to spur broader economic growth within the business community.
If you are an SDB and interested in bidding on any of our procurements, please contact us.
