Gogo Unveils New ESA in Close Collaboration With Hughes

History is repeating itself at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) conference, the annual meeting place for the business aviation community. Just one year ago, Gogo announced its new low earth orbit (LEO) global broadband service powered by the groundbreaking Electronically Steerable Antenna (ESA) technology from Hughes.

Now, Gogo has announced the debut of its Gogo Galileo product line, comprised of the previously revealed HDX antenna and the new FDX antenna, designed to fit on larger aircraft and deliver higher throughput for greater performance. Developed in close collaboration by Gogo and Hughes, the two antenna designs incorporate the Hughes ESA optimized for business aviation applications. The premium FDX antenna enables even faster in-flight connectivity with support for multiple unique interactive video and gaming sessions simultaneously.

Designed specifically for the OneWeb LEO constellation, the Hughes ESA is capable of connecting within seconds and smoothly handing off the signal from one satellite to the next, delivering a seamless in-flight experience for streaming apps, cloud apps or live video calls. Manufactured by Hughes at our factory in Maryland, the ESA consumes less power and weighs less than others on the market, enabling in-flight connectivity for aircraft of all sizes.
