Gayathri | Software Engineer
A childhood “offline” left Gayathri wondering why something as basic as an internet connection wasn’t available to everyone. Discovering a love for blending code with connectivity, she is now creating the kind of access for others that she once dreamed of.
Rasha | Hardware Engineer
The theme of “Together We Engineer” is personal to Rasha. The first project she led at Hughes was an all-woman team (notable in a predominantly male group). She believes that having the right teammates is crucial in a field where you’re often working on crucial tasks under tight deadlines.
Shreya | Software Engineer
Growing up in a military family who moved often, Shreya learned adaptability from a young age. From finishing her engineering degree in three years—while balancing academics, adult responsibilities, and teaching robotics to kids—to landing a role at Hughes only two weeks after graduation, she is always up for a challenge.
Bengi | Software Engineer
Bengi credits the women mentors she has had along the way for keeping her on course despite personal setbacks that left her discouraged. Her advice for the next generation of women in engineering? You don’t need a perfect start or a straight path. Take up space and keep going.
