Hughes JUPITER System Selected by Speedcast to Power Cellular Backhaul and Enterprise Services Across Central America

High-performance satellite broadband system to enable services in Nicaragua and other Central American countries, spurring economic growth

Germantown, MD, Feb. 27, 2019Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite networks and services, today announced that Speedcast, a trusted provider of remote communications and IT solutions, has chosen the Hughes JUPITER™ System to power cellular backhaul over satellite and enterprise VPN services for a leading mobile network operator in Managua, Nicaragua. The operator will employ a JUPITER Ku-band hub and nearly 100 satellite terminals to expand its cellular 3G and 4G services in Nicaragua and throughout Central America, along with providing VPN services for enterprises to increase speed and security of critical business networks and grow new markets.
