HughesNet and 4-H Recognized for Supporting STEM Education
HughesNet® and National 4-H Council announced that their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) partnership was named a 2016 Bulldog Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Silver Award winner. With a shared passion for STEM, HughesNet and National 4-H Council have partnered to inspire the next generation of scientists, build future leaders, and power our country’s competitiveness in the global economy.
The Bulldog CSR winners were selected based on their ability to achieve extraordinary visibility and influence opinion, as well as on creativity, tenacity and command of media and technology. The HughesNet/4-H partnership began in 2014 and since then has provided STEM learning experiences to more than 100,000 American youth across the country annually.
“Access to quality STEM education should be available to all youth, wherever they may live,” said Peter Gulla, senior vice president of marketing at Hughes. “This partnership is helping build awareness of the exciting opportunities in STEM-related careers for youth in communities we serve nationwide—who will be our future leaders.”
