Hughes Rolls Out the First Internet Service to Deliver 25 Mbps Download Speeds Coast-to-Coast Across the US
On March 16, 2017, HughesNet® Gen5 went live, becoming the first truly coast-to-coast U.S. Internet service to offer 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds, which meets the new Federal Communications Commission (FCC) defined broadband standard. This comes after recognition by FCC of HughesNet’s #1 ranking in delivering on advertised speeds for two consecutive years—including both terrestrial and satellite Internet service providers.
