Newsletter wins Platinum and “Best In-House Inspire” Award for third consecutive year
For the third year in a row, the Hughes Channels Newsletter has been awarded the platinum award and Best In-House Inspire Award from the League of Communications Professionals (LACP) in its Spotlight Awards Corporate Publishing Competition. This year, the publication moved up one notch, placing third in the Top 25 rankings.
LACP's goal is to promote best-in-class practices in communications and recognize those who demonstrate exemplary communications behaviors. According to LACP, the 2016/17 competition drew one of the largest number of submissions ever, representing a broad range of industries and organizational sizes. Materials were judged in peer-level competitions, with each competition including hundreds of entries from Fortune 500 organizations, non-profits, and corporations from a variety of industry sectors. The Channels newsletter scored 99 out of 100 total points across such categories as artwork, readability, message clarity, audience focus, first impression, and ease of navigation.
Arunas Slekys, vice president of corporate marketing said, “Each issue of Channels depends on contributors from all business and functional groups who offer interesting and important storylines. This award truly crosses all company areas. Congratulations to Eric Gann, Aaron James and the Corporate Marketing Team, supported by PUBS, Graphics and external support groups, Kim Murphy (lead writer), Design Pond (lead designers), and Rockville Printing (printer/eBook)."
