Share

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Oct. 19, 2015EchoStar Corporation (NASDAQ: SATS), a premier global provider of satellite operations and video delivery solutions, today announced that the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has named it a recipient of a 67th Annual Technology and Engineering Emmy® Awards for closed-loop statistical multiplexing of geographical distributed encoders.

This high-tech innovation maximizes satellite bandwidth by allocating multiple local channels, based on need, into a single, more efficient data stream. Without any loss in signal quality, satellite TV operators can better offer high-definition services in all 210 U.S. Designated Market Areas (DMAs) while continuing to provide existing services and high-quality video to consumers.

“We are proud to be honored with this prestigious Emmy® award from NATAS,” said Mark Jackson, president of EchoStar Technologies. “As we continually look to innovate our space systems, we recognized the need for a more efficient and cost-effective statistical multiplex methodology while utilizing our existing infrastructure. Collaborating with our partners, we were able to help bring all the necessary requirements together to implement this groundbreaking technology.”

The award will be presented at the Technology and Engineering Emmy® Awards banquet on January 8, 2016, during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
