At Digital Signage Expo 2017, Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes) showed off its digital signage software, Hughes MediaSignage™, running on LG’s webOS SmartTV platform. This integration makes enterprise digital signage more accessible by eliminating the need for an external digital media player. The MediaSignage application will take full advantage of the webOS platform and will be compatible with all of the Hughes Digital Signage solutions including BreakroomTV™, Dining Room TV™, Digital Menu Boards, Digital Associate™, and much more.

“We are very excited to extend the use of LG webOS enabled devices with our robust content management and distribution systems,” said Mike Tippets, VP of Digital Media Solutions at Hughes. “This allows enterprises of all shapes and sizes to utilize digital signage anywhere – for both internal and external communication.”

The solution will be initially released on LG’s SM3C series of screens. The built-in Wi-Fi and SoC (system on-chip) reduces the total cost of ownership and simplifies installation, allowing end users to manage content more conveniently. These screens further enhance interaction with integrated beacon technology which enables personalized experiences for those using their personal mobile devices.

“We are excited that Hughes has selected LG for the initial roll-out of on-board digital signage,” said James Pfenning, National Account Manager for LG. “While on-board digital signage has been available for a few years, Hughes is one of the first digital signage partners that can easily scale to the enterprise level as well as offer world-class managed services.”

Hughes MediaSignage is a robust content management system designed to simplify the creation, scheduling, and deployment of enterprise-grade digital signage. Over the past 10 years, Hughes has successfully launched both employee facing and customer facing digital signage solutions, built on leveraging video with digital signage software to engage, train, inform, and excite both employees and customers across retail, hospitality and government.

Hughes demonstrated its BreakroomTV solution on the LG screens at DSE, March 29-30, 2017. For more information and to schedule a personalized demo contact us.
