Routing Guides

All material in this guide has been updated and carries an effective date of June 1, 2004.

The purpose of this guide is to inform our suppliers of the standards that we expect to be followed on all inbound freight movements. The routing guide instructs the supplier on which carrier or forwarder to use on all US domestic FOB Origin shipments and international origin shipments into the U.S. This guide also provides additional guidelines that should be followed on all shipments. HUGHES® encourages any feedback from suppliers or carriers on supply chain related issues. All instructions are mandatory. Failure to comply with this routing guide may result in a charge back of all freight charges.

We are currently focusing on improving our inbound transportation procedures and need the support of our suppliers to lower our costs. This can be accomplished by using the named carriers with which we have favorable rates and proven quality relations. If any problems arise by using the carriers on the routing guide please let us know and we will be glad to address the situation.

Standard delivery of material from all suppliers is via the most economical surface mode, unless otherwise authorized. Shipments must arrive on the due date or within five (5) days prior to the due date.
