1.0 Introduction

1.1 Scope
Hughes requires Suppliers to place standard bar-coded labels on all shipping containers, packlists and on all boxes containing individual pieces. The labels below are based on the Electronic Industries Association Standards and therefore the contents of these labels in terms of "DATA" cannot be enhanced or changed in any way. These labels will be used at all the Hughes facilities.

1.3 Two standard label formats are provided
Label 1: Hughes required standard shipping label applied to all packlists, shipping cartons, pallets, cylindrical containers, bundles, bags, and reels.
Label 2: Hughes required inner package label applied to all packages inside the shipping cartons or pallets. This label can be reduced in the same format to fit small sized boxes.

Note: The following symbols are used on both labels:
B/H = both bar-coded and human readable
H/R = human readable only
The actual barcode can be located above or below the depicted barcode item

2.0 Requirements

Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Labels.

 

Wherever possible, the label should be affixed to the smaller end of the package or shipping container, which might be facing the aisle if the package is stored on shelving or racks.

 

Packaging must be of size to accommodate labels or the use of a tag.

 

When multiple part numbers are shipped labeling should read "MIXED LOAD" and a label applied to each individual package.

 

2.1 Standard Placement of Labels

Packlist barcode labels must be placed on or printed on the packlist. Duplicate labels can be placed on outer shipping container. Inner labels must be placed on all containers inside master container, one per each inner container.
