Instructions to use the BGAN software PC upgrader for the Hughes 9350 |

- Unzip the attached file (9350_Upgrader_5_5_1_8_PC.zip) which will unpack the BGAN-X PC Upgrader into the C:\bgan-x\5.5.1.8\ folder on your computer.
- Go to the C:\bgan-x\5.5.1.8 folder and click on the BganX_Upgrader.exe. If the Upgrader is started before the 45 seconds has elapsed and the IB (Interface Board) software version is shown as "Unknown", use the "Get Software Version" from the "Tools" drop down menu to re-request the software version information.

The explanations below describe each of the menu tabs in the Upgrader. |
- BGAN-X Satellite IP Modem Upgrader window will appear showing currently installed s/w versions and upgrade selections available with this Upgrader package.
- IP Address field shows address of UT. Green circle indicates Ethernet connectivity and red indicates no connectivity. IP address of UT is set in Tools drop-down menu explained below.
- Restore button will restore the UT to the prior installed s/w release.
- Upgrade button is used to perform the upgrade in conjunction with the Upgrade selections (SW, PIC, IB FW, & Antenna).
- Status bar at bottom of Upgrader window provides progress information during the upgrade process.
- File drop-down menu:
- Upgrade Selection – same as Upgrade button
- Restore Software – same as Restore button
- Upgrade Antenna (Standalone) – same as Upgrade Antenna checkbox
- Upgrade IB – same as Upgrade IB FW checkbox
- Upgrade PIC – same as Upgrade PIC checkbox
- Exit – exits the upgrader
- Tools drop-down menu:
- Configure Modem Interface – enter IP address of UT. Default is 192.168.128.100
- Get Software Version – refreshes Upgrader window and displays software versions currently installed and available for upgrade from the Upgrader
- Reset Modem – reboots the UT
- Help drop-down menu:
- About Upgrader – displays Upgrader version

Instructions to use the BGAN software MAC upgrader for the Hughes 9350 |
- Download the attached file (9350_Upgrader_5_5_1_8_MAC.zip) and run it from where ever you want the BGAN Upgrader to run on your Mac (e.g. Desktop, Applications folder, etc.)
- Click on the Bgan-X_Upgrader Icon to start the upgrade process.

Note: Currently the MAC Upgrader only supports upgrading the Hughes software. It does NOT support upgrading of the IB, PIC or antenna software. A later version will have this capability. |

Performing upgrade(s):
NOTE: Do not disrupt any upgrade while in progress. |

- To perform an upgrade, select from the available upgrade selections and click the Upgrade button.
- Upgrades may be selected and performed individually or all together. The Upgrader will upgrade each selected component in sequence.
- Unavailable selections are grayed out, dependent on the released software upgrade(s) provided with the upgrader package.
- A Pop-up window appears Please confirm your selections. Do you want to proceed upgrading the following items? (The selected items are listed).
- Click Yes (No cancels the selection)
- The section being upgraded will highlight green and the upgrade process begins.
- NOTE: In the case of IB FW upgrade, the IB Info section will additionally show a progress bar and percentage complete value; during the last 10%, the upgrade selections will flash to signify nearing completion.
- The Status bar will show a series of progress messages as the upgrade proceeds.
- Please wait for the upgrade(s) to complete. Note that the IB FW upgrade may take ~8 minutes. Do not interrupt any upgrade since this may leave the UT in an unknown state.
- When the upgrade completes, the green highlight disappears.
- A few moments later, the version field shows the updated version.
- The Status bar shows Operation Successful. Release Info retrieved.
- At this point, the upgrade has completed.
- If multiple upgrade selections have been made, the Upgrader will continue with the next upgrade in the sequence.

Check the Upgrader window and verify that the updated version matches the new version supplied with the Upgrader. |
