Congratulations to the 14 Hughes runners who participated in the 34th annual U.S. Marine Corps Marathon and a brand-new, related 10-kilometer run, called MCM10K, on October 25, 2009. The marathoners followed a 26.2 mile trek through the streets of historic Arlington, Virginia and Washington, D.C., sharing part of the course with the 10K runners, before both groups finally crossed the finish line at the Marine Corps War Memorial in Rosslyn, Virginia.

Nicknamed “The People’s Marathon,” the event is the world’s largest marathon that does not offer prize money. “I think many runners would agree that if you have desire, dedication, and discipline, you can accomplish a lot more than you ever expected,” said Jonathan Forest, senior director, NAD Enterprise Service Development, and one of the marathoners. “It’s all about searching for the next challenge and having friends to share it with.” Kudos to the whole Hughes team!
