Hughes 9250 BGAN Mobile Satellite Terminal Receives Type Approval

Hughes 9250 Terminal Delivers Broadband Rates while “On the Move” over Inmarsat's Global BGAN Satellite Network

Germantown, Md., September 24, 2008 — Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite network solutions and services, today announced that its latest generation Hughes 9250 mobile satellite terminal has been fully Type Approved to operate over Inmarsat's Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN). The Hughes 9250 is designed to deliver the highest available transmit and receive rates of up to 492 Kbps while “on the move” within Inmarsat's global BGAN satellite coverage area.

Ideal for news reporters, emergency response, and mobile workers, the Hughes 9250 enables a wide range of broadband applications, including data and video file transfers, Internet browsing, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Virtual Private Network (VPN), Voice over IP (VoIP), Wi-Fi, and video conferencing — all while on the move. It features a compact, fully autonomous tracking antenna, easily installed with a magnetic roof mount.
