FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Hughes Opens New Operations Center in BrazilEnabling Expansion of Satellite Capacity and Services Germantown, Md., August 22 2007 Hughes Brazil has completed the migration of its Network Operations Center ( NOC ) from Cotia to Barueri in the state of São Paulo . The NOC is now located at Terremark Brazil, one of the largest IP Traffic Exchange Peering Points in Latin America . The relocation of our NOC fulfills a strategic goal as it will enable the expansion of our operating capacity in Brazil with increased satellite service offerings, so we can grow our business throughout South America faster said Delio Morais, president of Hughes Brazil . The NOC relocation is an important strategic move for Hughes Brazil, since the Terremark facility provides Hughes a more suitable infrastructure to meet the company's increasing traffic needs, and the advantage of being connected to the backbones of all major operators in Brazil . The new NOC infrastructure is not only scaled to meet Hughes' current technical and operational demands, but is also designed to support future expansions in a highly secure environment. In December 2006 the company also moved its administrative center to Sao Paulo from Alphaville. We are proud to service Hughes and bring satellite connectivity to our Network Access Point ( NAP ) in Brazil, while expanding the current broadband connectivity offering to our customer base, said Hugo Zanon, managing director, Terremark Brazil. We are confident that combining neutrality, reliability, mass connectivity, and the operations of the most important Multilateral IP Exchange Point in the region will provide increased synergy between Hughes and our customers, a strategy that is in line with Terremark's marketplace business model throughout the world. According to Delio Morais, satellite is a technology with the basic advantage of integrating the daily activities of companies whether they are located in large centers like Sao Paulo, or in regions with limited or no terrestrial telecom infrastructure.
