Hughes to Provide Broadband Satellite Services During Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration

Company to Highlight Military and Emergency Response Capabilities

Germantown, Maryland, June 17, 2009 — Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite networks and services, is providing rapid deployment of satellite-based broadband capabilities for disaster and emergency response during the Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID) June 15-26, 2009.

CWID events are held at five locations in the United States and abroad in Allied nations. An annual event directed by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, CWID focuses on criteria defined by combatant commanders and government agencies, simulating real-time events and putting lifesaving information sharing technologies to the test. Technologies are approved for participation in CWID if they address a new information sharing capability or improve upon an existing information sharing capability.

Hughes will be participating at the Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom Air Force Base; the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division; the Joint Systems Integration Center at the U.S. Joint Forces Command; the Homeland Security and Homeland Defense and Maritime Component Command Center at North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base; and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific at San Diego State University.
