Hughes 10th Annual Seminar in Moscow Focuses on
Unified Broadband
Annual Seminar Offers Opportunity for Service Providers and Customers to Connect and Collaborate with Market Leader in Broadband Satellite Networks
Moscow, Russia, May 15, 2007 Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes), the world's leading provider of broadband satellite network solutions and services, will conduct its 10 th annual Hughes seminar in Moscow today for service providers and customers from Russia, Ukraine, and the CIS region. Hughes executives will update attendees on its latest products and services, with more than 150 invited to participate in a collaborative, interactive forum.
The seminar, entitled HughesNet Unified Broadband coincides with the annual Sviaz/ExpoComm 2007 conference and exhibition in the Russian capital. The format is designed to explore broadband opportunities and challenges faced by service providers throughout the region, thereby enabling Hughes to design products, solutions, and services that directly address their needs.
Dr. Arunas Slekys, Hughes vice president and general manager, Russia/CIS business, said, This annual seminar series is an important component of Hughes' commitment to the Russia/CIS market, allowing us to share the latest information about emerging market opportunities and technology developments with our growing list of service partners. At this forum in particular, we would like to officially recognize our 16 authorized service providers in Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Kahzakstan, who now operate 19 Hughes NOCs (Network Operations Centers and have contracted for over 18,000 broadband VSAT sites. Our continued mutual success in the marketplace depends on forums such as thiswhere we listen, learn and plan the future together.
Hughes executives will cover broadband trends globally in satellite fixed, mobile, and terrestrial wireless areas, including updates to the Hughes AB9400 point-to-multipoint broadband wireless system operating at 24-28 GHz frequency bands. The AB9400 is the leading PMP system for 3G cellular site backhaul, and also supports Wi-Fi hot spot connectivity, fixed telephony, broadband services, and point-to-point links. Executives from major Hughes customers in Russia and the region will update attendees on a range of new initiatives undertaken this year, including broadband services to rural communities and schools.
