A full portfolio of in-store TV, in-store radio and kiosk systems will be showcased at Booth F41 in the Rhein-Main-Hallen, demonstrating how the retail and consumer goods industries can precisely target customer groups by using digital signage solutions and quality content. “Targeting customers directly at the POS by means of digital media is becoming increasingly important in Germany, where the potential of digital signage has yet to be fully exploited,” said Ralf Mikitta, director of sales for Hughes Europe. “We are excited to be showing how many of our successful retail customers in the United States and Europe are able to achieve measurably higher sales and improved customer bonding by means of digital signage.” As a part of the congress program, Mikitta is giving a presentation on February 14 entitled Connect to the Future – Communication at the POS. He will show how important content is for the successful use of digital information media, and give insights into an international study on digital signage by POPAI (Point-of-Purchase Advertising International). The study, which was backed by Hughes, analyzes the market for digital media at the POS/POI and takes a closer look at programs, market players, formats, technical considerations and business models. “A digital signage solution is not just a matter of technology, such as flat screens, media players or network connections,” Mikitta says. “Its success stands or falls with the right content and a conclusive overall concept.” The Hughes offering covers all phases of a digital signage project, ranging from strategy and concept development, to content production and marketing of advertising locations.
